Election Dispute - Nov 12th

Updated ET, Sat ,

Several Senate Republicans have broken with the Trump administration to argue that President-elect Joe Biden should get access to classified intelligence briefings, even though the president continues to contest the election results.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has rejected criticism of remarks he made this week in which he said that the State Department would ensure "a smooth transition to a second Trump administration."

Congressional Democratic leaders accused Republicans Thursday of refusing to confront the dramatically worsening coronavirus pandemic and instead acquiescing to President Trump’s false insistence that he won last week’s presidential election.

President Donald Trump has paused post-election public appearances for now, but Americans will hear from him "at the right moment," White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, speaking in her role as an adviser to his reelection campaign, said Thursday.
