White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Scott Atlas criticized Michigan's new Covid-19 restrictions in a tweet shortly after they were announced Sunday evening, urging people to "rise up" against the new public health measures.

Dr. Scott Atlas, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, called for people to “rise up” up after Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced a three-week “pause to save lives” during the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) announced a three-week “pause to save lives,” closing colleges, high schools, workplaces and in-person dining as new coronavirus cases have spiked.

Despite a long list of mask mandates, social distancing orders, and others relating to curtailing the spread of the virus dating back months, Whitmer doubled down as cases are on the rise.
