Election Dispute

Updated ET, Sat ,

President Donald Trump is set to speak from the White House on Thursday evening as he charges ahead with a strategy to force an election victory -- or at least forestall a loss -- through legal maneuvers and demands for recounts, a final-ditch effort to prevent states from tallying ballots that could decide the next president.

President Trump's campaign remained confident Thursday, predicting not only that the incumbent Republican will win the 2020 election, but that the result could become apparent as soon as Friday.

Michigan Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens denied a request by President Donald Trump's campaign to halt vote counting in Michigan, questioning some evidence provided and describing it as "hearsay" in a Thursday afternoon ruling.

Facebook has censored Stop the Steal, a rapidly growing Facebook page set up by Trump voters organizing in-person rallies at voting locations to demand integrity in the ballot counting process.
